ANC Caucus Statement on the National Caucus Lekgotla

Members of the Parliamentary Caucus of the African National Congress, 297 in the National Assembly and 35 in the National Council of Provinces, including those serving in the Executive, will meet for a two-day annual National Caucus Lekgotla from 31 January - 1 February 2008 in Parliament, Cape Town.

The Lekgotla will provide Caucus with an opportunity to critically and frankly assess its performance in 2007 and to identify its tasks, challenges and strategic priorities for 2008, informed by the resolutions of the national conference and the tasks outlined in this year’s January 8 Statement of the ANC National Executive Committee.

ANC President cde Jacob Zuma will give a keynote address to the meeting. The Lekgotla will also be attended by the Deputy President of the ANC cde Kgalema Motlanthe, National Chairperson cde Baleka Mbete and Deputy President of the Republic, cde Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

A photo opportunity for the media will take place just before the start of the meeting.
