The ANC is concerned about employers not meeting equity targets
The Commission for Employment Equity's 19th annual report reveals that whites continue to be the dominant group in top management positions, despite being among the lowest economically active population group. This report indicates that black professionals in general and Africans in particular are not considered for senior positions in the private sector, as compared to employment at national and local government.
This raises concerns regarding the private sectors commitment to transformation and works against inclusive economic growth. This makes a mockery of our commitment to rid our country off inequality, poverty and unemployment. The ANC calls upon business, labour and civil society to come together and find a workable solution to address this matter.
I thank you
