MOTION ON SOUTH AFRICA HAS A WORLD CHAMPION ONCE AGAIN
The African National Congress moves without notice: That the House
- notes that in a clash for the vacant IBF light flyweight title between unbeaten fighters, IBF Number 1 Sivenathi “The Special One” Nontshinga from the Eastern Cape, won a gruelling twelve round battle of attrition against IBF Number 3 Hector “Baby Bull” Flores, on Saturday night, 3rd September 2022 at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Mexico;
- understands that Nontshinga dropped Flores in round two, but Flores battled his way back with non-stop punching;
- further understands that Flores suffered a cut on his forehead from a head clash that bled profusely over the second half of the fight;
- acknowledges that the scores were 116-114 and 114-113 for Nontshinga and 115-112 for Flores;
- further acknowledges Nontshinga, 23, became the only current South African fighter to hold one of the main organisation titles and claimed a South African record of winning a main organisation title after only 11 fights; and
- congratulates him on his win and wishes him much success in his future fights.
