The African National Congress moves without notice: That the House
-
welcomes the more than 500 hand-crocheted blankets for abandoned babies by Mrs Marie Tromp, an 88-year-old resident of a retirement home in Pretoria East;
-
notes that Mrs Tromp has been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and has only months left to live;
-
understands that even though she is battling the constant pain of cancer, and her sight is severely impaired, she has still managed to crochet these blankets for Dove’s Nest Place of Safety, Tshwane Home for Abandoned Babies and Women Against Rape;
-
extends our well wishes to her and thanks her for her generous spirit and warm and courageous heart.
