MOTION ON TEAM SA WINNING LIFE SAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The African National Congress moves without notice: That the House
- notes that the South African lifesaving squad showed its class to win this year’s Lifesaving Africa Championships held in Alexandra, Egypt;
- further notes that South Africa dominated the water events and was the main catalyst in the Proteas finishing the championships with a combined total of 500 points, with hosts Egypt finishing second on 468 points and Morocco claiming bronze with 410 points;
- acknowledges that although Morocco and Egypt caused several headaches for South Africa in the Beach Sprint individual races, the Proteas were dominant in the Beach Sprint Mixed Relay where they claimed gold; and
- congratulates Team SA and wishes them well in future competitions.
