Motion Without Notice By The ANC Chief Whip On Nelson Mandela`s Birthday

I move without notice, that the House;
Noting;
That 18 July has become an important date in the South African Calendar, as a day when we celebrate former President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela`s birthday;
Further noting,
That as we mark the achievement of this milestone in his life, we celebrate together the contribution that he continues to make, towards the realization of the goal of a better life for all;
Recognises,
That his long years of commitment to the struggle for peace and social justice, his exemplary leadership as the head of the Government of National Unity and the Republic of South Africa are some of the important landmarks in the path traversed towards democracy;
Wishes,
Madiba a happy belated birthday.
