Motion without notice on racism in sports
The Chief Whip of the Majority Party moved without notice: That the House
(1) notes the racist comments directed at Bafana-Bafana defender Siyanda Xulu by the coach of his Russian Football Club FC Rostov recently;
(2) further notes that the coach, Igor Gamula confirmed these racist comments to the media although he says it was a joke;
(3) remembers that South Africa is part of the initiative named Global Watch which say no to racism-discrimination in Sport and is driven by a partnership between the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Doha Goals Forum Foundation and the Sexwale Foundation; and
(4) condemn any form of racism remarks and call on FIFA to investigate this incident.
