Northern Cape boosts Teacher capacity

In its resolve to promote the status of teachers, the ANC welcomes the Northern Cape Provincial Government`s pronouncement to set aside R20.4 million for a capacity building programme for teachers.
A total of 108 educators stand to benefit from a four-year capacity building programme entered into between the ANC Provincial Government and the Sishen Iron Ore Community Development Trust and Rhodes University. The teachers concerned will study towards Bachelor of Education degrees in three different streams.
This initiative is in line with our policy of improving teacher training and renumeration as part of our drive to ensure that quality teaching becomes the norm. The ANC therefore encourages such capacity building programme for teachers.
