Special Envoys on a mission to net $100bn in investment
TP Mantashe
The ANC commends President Cyril Ramaphosa's proactive initiative, in appointing Special Envoys, to spearhead an investment drive with a target of raising 100 billion US dollars over the next five-year period. The appointment of the investment envoy is in line with the commitment made by the President during his State of the Nation Address in February to increase investment and boost the country's economy.
This team of envoys will use opportunities such as the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to engage with several major global companies to brief them on recent developments in the country, sell and communicate a clear and consistent message that South Africa is an investment destination with significant unrealised potential.
This mission is in accordance with the ANC vision of building an economy that encourages and welcomes investment, offers policy certainty and addresses barriers that inhibit growth and social inclusion. This will assist in ensuring significant growth, development and transformation in South Africa.
I thank you
