Land Affairs Purchase Farm For Community

In 2000 the Department of Land Affairs bought a Hardwood farm for the community of Klipplaat with movable assets worth R750 000.00 excluding the purchase price of the farm. The purpose of buying the farm was to create jobs for the community through the following initiatives: farming of about 800 sheep, 500 mohair goats, three tunnels and game farming.

This project intends to expand; feasibility has been done by consultants on grade E abattoir, Leather works and tanning.

We commend the departments that partake in the steering committee; that is the department of Agriculture, Economic and Environment Affairs, Land Affairs, Social Development, Education and Correctional Services.
