The ANC Parliamentary Caucus is devastated by the untimely passing of the Deputy Chief Whip of Inkatha Freedom Party, Honourable Khethamabala Petros “KP” Sithole, whose life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet in Gauteng on Saturday, 31 May 2025. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, friends and the IFP, his political party.

Honourable Sithole possessed the highest qualities of leadership in parliament and outside. He exhibited outstanding maturity, fairness and respect for other people’s views. A humble servant of people, Honourable KP was capable of executing his tasks with dignity and treated people from different political parties with honour.

He distinguished himself as a true champion of peace and unity and had the ability to embrace the diversity of our Parliament.

The ANC Caucus calls on the law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and arrest the perpetrators involved in this heinous crime, and ensure justice prevails for the grieving Sithole family as well as the members and supporters of the IFP.

The loss of Honourable Sithole is a loss to all of us in Parliament and to the people of South Africa.
