The ANC parliamentary caucus welcomes the appointment of Honourable Soviet Lekganyane to Chair the multi-party Ad Hoc Committee to investigate the allegations of criminality made by KwaZulu-Natal’s provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, against several persons in government and the South African Police Services.

The ANC believes that the ad hoc committee will work in a non-partisan way to uphold Parliament’s constitutional mandate of oversight of government and state institutions, as well as the principles of justice, integrity and accountability

We trust that all those with relevant knowledge of matters relating to the allegations will come forward to ensure that the committee achieves its objectives.
